NIDAL CHRONICLES - ACT 1: What's in a Name
At the steps of the mountains lays Bottom’s Green Plateau.
While the area the Bottom lays in a temperate region it is in the northern temperate reaches and so the summers tend to be shorter and the winters tend to be longer. The temperatures on the steps and in this area range from as low as -22 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter to as high as 77 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months with a yearly average temperature of 28 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Bottom itself is the exception to the rule, most think it is due to the way the Bottom is situated at the base of the mountains and the wind patterns. In the Bottom the climate is more temperate with the temperatures ranging from -15 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter to as high as 101 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months with a yearly average temperature of 50 degrees Fahrenheit. While the region at large is green and generally arable the Bottom is lush and green with a generous growing season.
There are several small nomadic groups that call the Bottom home however they tend to keep to themselves and tend to stay as far away from the mountains as possible. These groups mostly consist mostly of humans but there are some groups of elves as well.
